“Dress Up” your window treatments with Vintage Jewelry!!! You can find almost any style, color, size & design of Vintage Jewelry at your local yard sales, estate sales & flea markets. Once you begin “collecting” pieces, you should have no difficulty finding styles which will compliment your décor. |

Many beaded/pearl necklaces are knotted, so they can be cut to any length. The length of your tie-backs will depend on the thickness of the drapery. Since most of our window coverings are lace panels, I use a 10” to 12” length. ![]() |

If the string of beaded necklace is not knotted, you can just cut the string or cord and separate the beads. Then decide on your pattern and thread the beads on a lightweight wire. I use 26 gauge craft wire & double the wire. Once you have threaded all of your beads, you will need to form a small hook & eye, so your can connect the tie-back around the curtain. ![]() ![]()

The pieces you find, which use links to connect the beads & chain, are easy to separate. You need to decide on the length, and open the links, using pliers. I use two pair of small needle-nose pliers on either side of the openning and just gently twist apart. You will need to form some type of hook, so the ends can be connected. I use a 20 gauge jewelry wire. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NOTE: To attach the tie-backs, I use small brass screw-in hooks. I place them at the outside edge of the window trim. |

RESOURCES: The 26 & 20 gauge wire and needle-nose pliers can be found in the Floral or Craft section of your local Wal-Mart, or craft store. |
